Individuals who live with self-deception constantly blame others for their many problems. People don't realize the biggest problem they have in life is themselves. If you're not happy or successful Are you the one to blame? Below are six steps that are a necessary for self-improvement. No shortcuts exists and they must be done in order. The most valuable tool to aid individuals in leaving the old damaging behaviors behind is Manualized Cognitive Restructuring . Cognitive restructuring has the ability to help people defeat thinking errors and behaviors.
One of the psychological differences between humans and other mammals is that humans have the ability to be self aware. That is, they know how to see and accept their faults and weaknesses. Because of self-awareness, humans can become better and change their lives. Improving habits, values and behavior is not easy. For example, if you desire to transform a hard-core criminal into a good citizen the change would have to come from within. Criminals must accept responsibility for their behavior. If they stay in denial they can never change. To successfully help criminal offenders, you must first help them become self-aware. This process is referred to as reality therapy. You cannot force criminals to become better but you can force them to be self-aware. Self-awareness is the first step in changing criminal offenders into good citizens. Abide by these steps to make a complete change in your life. There are no shortcuts.
Step #1- AWARENESS Self-awareness is the initial step in changing who you are. It's essential that you admit your faults. You cannot change without becoming self-aware.
Step #2- DESIRE If you do not desire to change, you will not ever do it. You have free will and, therefore, cannot be compelled. You have freedom to choose. It is up to you; it's your choice. No desire=no change.
Step #3- ATTITUDE If you're aware of your faults and desire to improve you'll subconciously lift your attitude. Its your own choice.
Step #4- SKILL Self-awareness, desire and a positive attitude aren't quite enough; developing the skills and knowledge of how to change is also imperative.
Step #5- BEHAVIOR Master steps one through four and you'll be ready physically to do what is necessary. Follow them for 90 days and it will be a habit. Follow them for one year and they will become a part of you.
Step #6- SUBCONCIOUS When you get a habit into your subconscious, it becomes automatic. You do not even have to think about it anymore; you have changed. Great!
If you keep on doing what you have been doing, you will keep on getting what you have been getting. If you want to change the outcome, you are required to change what you have been doing. The very first step in changing what you are is to defeat denial, bad scripting and faulty thinking This can only be accomplished by the above six-steps to change.
